Promotion of the region's interests

The Council of Tampere Region will promote the region's interests by proposing targets to be financed from the Budget to the central administration, including infrastructure, universities, higher education institutions and measures to promote research and vocational training. The European Union will also be lobbied in terms of financing and measures to support regional development.

Examples of the targets:

* EU support for pan-European transport corridors (TEN-T)

* Implementation of the innovation strategy of the Tampere Region

* Resources and structural development of universities and higher education and other education institutions

* Financing from the EU Structural Funds
- Competitiveness and employment programme
- Interreg programme

* Financing from the EU's special programmes
- 7th Framework Programme for Research
- Other special programmes
