Organisations

The Tampere Region will take part in the activities of European organisations that support and promote the joint efforts of regions, e.g. in order to strengthen the role of the regions in development work (regionalisation). To this end, fruitful cooperation will be built up and joint development projects will be prepared and implemented.

Our cooperation partners:

Assembly of European Regions, AER

The Assembly of European Regions (AER) is the political voice of the regions, which has an official negotiating position with the EU and promotes the interests of the regions. Mr Risto Koivisto, Chair of the Board, represents the Tampere Region in the General Assembly.

Baltic Sea States Subregional Co-operation, BSSSC

The Baltic Sea States Subregional Co-operation (BSSSC) is a cooperation body within the Council of Baltic Sea States, which promotes cooperation between the Baltic Sea regions in issues related to the economy, technology, the environment, health, education, transport and the social sector. The work takes place in Work Groups, and the Baltic Institute of Finland is involved in their activities in selected areas.

Committee of Regions, CoR

The Committee of Regions of the European Union is an advisory body that represents local and regional administration in the EU's decision-making system.
